AR-15 mounted Shotgun

Red Jacket Firearms: AR-15 Mounted Saiga-12 Shotgun

"Red Jacket Firearms, the company featured in the Discovery reality TV series Sons of Guns, manufacture a Saiga-12 shotgun that can be mounted on an AR-15's full length picatinny rail. They are selling it for $1889."

I love this show and find it really interesting but...

What the hell? no seriously..
Why does the attachment cost so much when the original Saiga-12 by itself is relatively inexpensive?
Where do you grip it? the Saiga's trigger? That's uncomfortable and unsafe..

Here’s the official rationale, from the “Master Key” episode of the Sons of Guns TV show: “A local SWAT officer asks Will to design a gun which will cut down on the time needed between breaching a door and switching to a primary firearm.”

Let me know what you guys think about this. Useful? or pure Hollywood?

  2. Yeah, it seems like a good concept, something that on paper seemed like a good idea, but since it was made...not so much.

  3. well, that's one way to lose a finger. why not just do like the SAS and use a short sawn-off with solid rounds for breaching kept on a length of cord then you just let it go and grab your primary?

  6. Hollywood all the way, I heard Michael Bay had a part in this.

  7. Having that particular attachment is hollywood. Having a shotgun attached to your rifle isn't, its very useful since rifles aren't made for CQC
